HVAC Coprorate History
In 1964 Joseph Massaro joined Local 38 of the Sheet Metal
Workers Union in New York. Two years later, he became Draftsman/Project
Manager for Elmsford Sheet Metal one of the largest sheet
metal fabrication shops in New York. By 1972 he became General
Manager and Partner.
Recognizing the need to improve productivity, Massaro developed
one of the first electronic computerized shop ticketing and
estimating systems in the industry – for his personal
shop’s use. In 1976 Massaro founded East Coast Sheet
Metal Works and produced, in partnership with a large plasma
table manufacturer, one of the very first computer-assisted
plasma cutting systems for the HVAC sheet metal industry. Between
1980 and 1995 more than a thousand CM-250’s computer-assisted
plasma cutters using EastCoast Maker™ CAM software were
sold.
That was the start of the company. Since then, EastCoast
has established trusted relationships with thousands of customers
world-wide, released dozens of CAD and CAM versions of its
software and is now manufacturing its own line of industry
hardened and economical plasma cutting systems called EC Series 2000. |
